The term "Symbolic" is another way of saying that you don't believe a bible verse; and since you are the only one that has the correct "key" of your declared symbols, people should listen to you instead.

Is this New Light coming or just some crackpot?
by pistolpete inthis experience was posted about a year ago.
it seems like a crackpot co was giving his prediction of what "might possibly happen in the future" .
now it seems like he wasn't such a crackpot after all.. quote.

There's a difference?Sounds to me what a bunch of Macallan sipping CO's (and Elder "heavies") might sit around a speculate.
I have heard similar speculations from those "in charge". I can totally see some spouting this kind of unbiblical nonsense.

It takes a while, but eventually a person finds his way out.
by pistolpete init hard to believe------you don't have the truth.. sometimes, for many----it takes half of your life -- or more---to figure it out.
it was like swimming upstream with lead boots pulling you back in.
and the closer you got to the "real" truth----the further away you strayed from your intimate group.

Hi Jes,
Welcome to the forum. The WT lied to you about God, our health, salvation, proper relationship to governmental authorities.... its a very long list.
When a person leaves the WT, the person has to start over, from the beginning and rebuild a value and belief system.
JWESCAPE.com has a YouTube Channel where the WT and conventions are examined critically from a common sense and Christian point of view.
The owner, Elaine is a 2nd gen JW born-in who hasn't seen her mother in 30 years. I would recommend starting there. Lots of good folks there and in their private FB group. -

Sorry to hear that worstfear. Protect yourself, love yourself ..... get a vision and move on. You are worth it. You will figure out where the wheels came off in time. Do not punish yourself..... get some counseling and get a vision and move on.
You will heal.

There is an ancient Navajo proverb that states, "you cannot wake a man pretending to be asleep". You'll never "wake" this kind of person up.
The other kind wake up slowly. Maybe give those a little shake as you continue your journey elsewhere. -

Jehovah GOD a failed GOD in many respects.
by smiddy3 inisn`t there enough evidence to acknowledge the god of the bible has been a failure ?according to wt / jw teachings ?.
a god that has supposed to have created the visible universe and everything in it ?.
some points where i would challenge that from an earthlings point of view using the bible if only in paraphrase.. doesn`t god create everything perfect ?

S3,
I only see three choices regarding sin and death:
1. God can enable it by forever letting it happen
2. God could make it impossible through instinctual programming and loss of free will
3. God can judge sin
Do you see ANY another possibility?

C T Russell's pyramid monument gets taken away by the WTS.
by Rafe injust recently the stone pyramid monument at c t russell's grave site was taken away by the wts.. six screens of the watchtower did a public discussion about the removal which may be still on that web site, that's where i heard about it.. it had been recently vandalized such the top head piece was removed and the carved christian cross on the monument was chiseled off.. since the wts owns that grave site, they have the right to do whatever they want to do with it.. my guess is that they will never put it back or redo the damage.. i think they will put it away in a obscure place and cover it, locked up somewhere.. the wts.
has never been proud or willingly open about that monument for obvious reasons such as being associated in false religion, which they claim they are not and they admonish other christian faiths are.. your thoughts ?

It's just so obvious that it was someone associated with the Jdubs that damaged it. Perhaps even the Org itself.
My thought exactly redvip2000.
Why chisel off the cross? Active dubs reject the cross.

Doesn`t God create everything Perfect ? Including the Angels ? and humans ? We know why humans fell short out of their perfection according to WT/ Bible ,ultimately because of deception by an Angel designated as Satan .
Isnt that a failure ?
My take: God is love. Love cannot be demanded. It must be given. That requires free-will. True free will requires the possibility of evil, rejection etc. Creating the conditions necessary for love is a good and perfect thing in the end, even if costly.

If God exists, what would be a good reason why he never communicates or helps his creation by intervention?
by pistolpete inyou have probably heard all kinds of excuses why god doesn’t communicates with his creation or why he doesn’t intervene.. some examples.. no one can see god because he is a spirit.. but we can hear god---yet he chooses not to talk to humanity.. god only communicates with certain people.
moses, samuel, abraham, etc.
but there are many people today who also claim that god spoke to them yet we ignore them but believe god spoke to people who lived thousands of years ago and we can’t really verify if that was so.

why he never communicates or helps his creation by intervention?
Didn't God intervene when he took the death penalty in place of others? Then, he walked out of a tomb to show that death was nothing to be feared.
Even if you don't believe the historical data regarding the Resurrection, surely you can agree that (if true) this would constitute the greatest intervention in human history, right?I personally can't think of a bigger intervention than the abolishment of death.
called us...not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, ... is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel - 2 Tim. 1
